How We Actually Started
Look, we didn't set out to revolutionize anything. Back in 2013, I was just frustrated with how complicated financial analysis seemed to be for small business owners. Everyone was either offering cookie-cutter solutions or charging enterprise prices for basic insights.
So we started simple. Really simple. We'd sit down with cafe owners, electricians, and retail shop managers — people running real businesses with real problems. Instead of drowning them in jargon, we focused on answering one question: "What do these numbers actually mean for my business?"
By 2016, word had spread. We were working with manufacturing companies in Albury, service businesses in Bathurst, and even some Melbourne startups who'd heard we actually explained things in English instead of accounting-speak. That's when we realized we weren't just doing bookkeeping anymore — we were teaching business owners how to read their own stories through their financials.
Today, we work with businesses across NSW and Victoria. Some have been with us for eight years now, which tells us we must be doing something right. We're still based in Wagga Wagga because, honestly, it keeps us grounded. When you're explaining cash flow to a local hardware store owner, you can't hide behind fancy presentations — it either makes sense or it doesn't.
